YAY!!!

YAY!!!!! Our Visas came in today!!! Woohoo!!! Isaiah's Visa will be in tomorrow!!! We are making our travel plans final!!!! It is time!!! We will be leaving on Saturday!!! We will do our best to update everyone on this blog while we are in Congo... as long as the internet cooperates :) We are so excited and are looking forward to meeting our son!!!! PRAISE GOD!!!

Our timeline

August 1st, 2010-God spoke to our hearts about adopting again
August 1-Prayed about Adopting again and received confirmation immediately
August 1st, 2010-attended adoption picnic with our agency in Atlanta, GA
August 2-Began Adoption Process by sending in application to our agency (One World Adoption Services-OWAS)
August 5-Application accepted for OWAS; Began Home Study process
August 6-I600A sent in, but unsure of country yet; running around to gather paperwork for Home Study
August 12-I600A Revised for Congo and sent in; still gathering paperwork and preparing for notarization
August 24-Homestudy Complete! Gathering other paperwork for OWAS
October 4-Fingerprint appointments in Jacksonville, Fl for Immigration Services
October 12-I600A (Immigration) Approval!!!
October 13-sent Dossier (big long list of paperwork) to OWAS
October 16-Dossier sent for translation
October 23-Dossier sent to Congo
October 26-Received letter from Embassy in Congo with list of documents needed
October 30-placed on wait list for baby boy
November-we are #15 on the wait list!
Dec & Jan-Delays in Congo due to Consular Officer change over
Feb-Referrals are finally moving; we are #3 on the wait list!
March 15-Our Referral Day!!! We have a baby boy!!! He is 7.5 months old and BEAUTIFUL!!!
April 15-submitted acceptance of referral paperwork to OWAS
April 25-our case has been submitted to court along with about 12 other families
April, May, June, July-Photos
July 27-waiting to hear news from court
August 5, 2011-Passed Court!!! Woohoo!!!
September 29-Court documents are in - being translated into English
November 18, 2011-Our Certificate of Non-Appeal Came In-sent to translation
December 5, 2011-Our Parental Authorization Came In-sent to translation; waiting for one more document - Certificate of Indigence (proof that our son is an orphan)
December 15-Fingerprint renewal - trip to Jacksonville, Fl...so we don't expire :)
December 16-Updated Home Study; more paperwork...our Home Study cannot be more than a year old...ugh!
December 20-Certificate of Indigence came in!!! New Photo today! Our son is walking; he is growing up so fast! He is now 16 months old...:(
December 21-Sent I600 (more Immigration approval), DS230 (in-country-Congo- paperwork), G28's (attorney to stand in for us), I864 (Application for VISA for our son), procuration, and Updated Home Study to OWAS!!! Documents arrived at USCIS on December 30th, 2011
January 18-Immigration Approval!!!! YAY!!! Now we wait for Isaiah's passport to come in to our Agency and then make our Embassy Appointment!
March 7, 2012-Isaiah's passport came in!!! But, we had to send it back b/c there was an Error in the spelling of his name :(
March 15-1st Embassy Appointment for document drop-off
March 19-2nd Embassy Appointment for child interview-cancelled due to the passport not being ready:(
March 22-Embassy drop off completed
March 27-Corrected passport is in-Embassy Interview completed and went great!
March 27-Letter of Invitation to the DRC arrived
March 27-sent off Visa packet for Greg and I :)
March 27-Tentative travel dates for April 7th!!! Traveled April 7th! Home on April 17th!!!
